Philosophy

I forge athletes who want to excel, not just on the court, but in their lives beyond volleyball. My coaching aims to push your athlete to the best of their ability and give them the confidence to achieve anything they set their mind to.

With over 16 years of playing experience across all levels and 5 years of coaching experience, I know what it takes to level up, and I take pride in helping my athletes do the same.

Through my own experiences, I have had the privilege of learning priceless life lessons through this beautiful sport, and I am honored to join your athletes in their own journey.

Volleyball is truly a unique sport because it isn’t always about natural gifts or talent. With enough grit and hard work, every athlete has an equal shot at being the best - all they need is to want it more than anyone and everyone else.

Ellen Buol

“I had the pleasure of coaching Melanie as a player for her 15’s season of club volleyball as well as having her join my team practices with my 17 and 18 National teams the years following that. I’m so excited to see her now leading as a coach herself. What always stood out about her was her work ethic — she showed up early, put in extra reps, and pushed herself to get better every single day, and that same drive now shows in how she prepares and pushes her own athletes. Any team would be beyond lucky to have her passion and dedication.”

Coach Ellen has been coaching for “x” years. She coached Melanie in the 2018 club season at Rocky Elite Volleyball Club and has been a steadfast mentor to Melanie and countless other athletes over the years. When Ellen graduated from “blank” high school, she did so with a volleyball state championship and (list other accolades).

Coach Ellen was the director of the North branch of Rocky Elite and the Varsity head coach of Rocky Mountain High School. She has led many teams to USAV Nationals through her ability to balance intensity with her endless love for her players and this sport.

“I’ve had the privilege of knowing Melanie both as an athlete I coached and later as a coach I hired for our beach volleyball program, which gives me a unique perspective on her growth and abilities. She has always been incredibly coachable, hardworking, and a true student of the game. As a former standout outside hitter, she understands the dedication it takes to succeed and uses her own experiences to connect with and inspire her athletes. Watching her transition from player to coach has been rewarding, and I can confidently say she leads with knowledge, integrity, and genuine care for every athlete she works with.”

Coach Juliane has an impressive resume; she played at the highest collegiate levels as an outside hitter at UCLA and has coached across a multitude of levels, including coaching Melanie during her junior and senior seasons at Fossil Ridge High School, leading the team to an impressive 13-2 finish that season. Many of her athletes have gone on to play at the college level. Coach Juliane is the founder and director of Aspire Beach Volleyball. For more information, please go to https://www.aspirebeach.com/
